Head lifters: Best Jewels of Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival is renowned for its star-studded red carpets and premieres, but nothing catches that Mediterranean sunlight like the jewels adorning those celebrities.

Every fine jewelry house vies for the opportunity to partner with established and up-and-coming stars to showcase their finest pieces. Whether you are a fan of the statement gems or appreciate an understated ensemble, it’s all on display at Cannes, so let’s deliberate over the most iconic pieces from the events!

Rym Saidi stunned in diamonds and sapphires supplied by Chopard at the “Decision to Leave” premiere. The necklace and matching earrings featured pear cut sapphires nestled in diamond encrusted settings, for a dazzling effect overall. Jaw-dropping sapphires were a popular choice for this Cannes Festival.

Anne Hathway was announced as Bulgari's newest ambassador and for the occasion wore a 107carat Sri Lankan sapphire with a coordinating sapphire ring of over 18 carats. Both pieces are from the new ‘Bulgari Eden The Garden of Wonders’ collection.

Pierre Deladonchamps was one of the few gentlemen in attendance who also had a piece of eye-catching sparkle. He opted for the Chaumet Espiègleries Lion brooch, a white gold brooch with sapphires and gold details.

Boucheron showcased one of its most unique and showstopping pieces to date on renowned model Nour Arida. The piece itself took over 2,000 hours to create and features over 350 diamonds.

The intricate woven design is a combination of both white and yellow gold interlaced together. Chaumet was a favorite partner of many celebrities in Cannes this year including Cindy Bruna. Her pink confection of a dress was accentuated by a diamond necklace, matching earrings, and a ring fit for a princess. The delicate metalwork of the white gold was expertly crafted to showcase the most exquisite diamonds.

It doesn’t always have to be diamonds to be gorgeous, unconventional pieces can be just as lovely, as proven by Viola Davis in Boucheron. The ‘Fleur De Paradis’ hair adornment is inspired by nature and features amethysts and sapphires. As if that wasn’t enough, the massive beryl ring on her finger is ‘The Hopi, Hummingbird’ ring also by Boucheron. Sabyasachi, a renowned jewelry design house, worked with Deepika Padukone to showcase the Lucknow Rose Necklace. A stunning piece that is fit for royalty, featuring diamonds, rubies, sapphires, tourmalines, pearls, and more.

A treasure chest of jewels crafted into wearable art. Italian jewelry design house Pomellato was not one to be excluded from the fanfare of Cannes. Their unique style was on display with Chriselle Lim, as she showcased an asymmetrical necklace and complimentary earrings. The style features a looping chain design of smooth gold alternated with encrusted diamond links. A modern design with an organic nod to heritage.

Perhaps the most stunning piece of jewelry seen during the festival was the Chopard 100 carat yellow diamond Necklace seen on Julia Roberts. The chain of the necklace consists of an additional 54 carats of diamonds, bringing the entire white gold piece to a carat count of over 150 carats of incomparable sparkle and beauty.
